Rooted in Service with International President Mark S. Lyon

Service is the foundation of our organization. It’s at the very root of what we do and who we are as Lions. Meaningful service fuels growth, increases our impact and strengthens our communities and our world. It’s why people join us — and why they stay.

That’s why my presidential theme this year is “Rooted in Service.” I encourage all of us to reconnect with our Lion roots and focus on what matters most. Get creative with your service. Have fun. Look for new ways to meet the needs of your communities. And remember, no act of service is too small — every effort makes a difference.

I look forward to serving alongside you as your international president. Thank you for all the ways you already serve, and I can’t wait to see what we accomplish together.

Governer’s Message:

“Together we roar, together we serve”

This theme is a reminder that our greatest strength is not any one voice—it’s the power of many voices united in service. When we bring together Lions and Leos with diﬀerent backgrounds, ages, cultures, abilities, professions and life experiences, we gain new perspectives that help us better understand our communities and respond with greater impact.

As we plan this years’ service and membership goals, I encourage every club to make diversity , equity and inclusion a visible priority—not as a separate initiative, but as a way of working. Inclusive clubs create welcoming spaces where members feel they belong, where leadership is developed broadly , and where new ideas are invited. Diverse teams help us innovate, strengthen fellowship and expand our reach to people and partners we may not have connected with before.

Let’s challenge ourselves to listen with curiosity , lead with respect and collaborate across generations and experiences. I invite clubs to identify and elevate new leaders, engage members in meaningful roles, and seek out community voices that have not always been represented at the table. When we value diﬀerent perspectives, we don’t just grow membership—we grow trust, relevance and service impact.

This year , let’s roar with purpose—through unity , through inclusion and through service that reflects the full community we are proud to serve. Together we roar . Together we serve.
